USEA unites all UTeach teacher preparation programs, UTeach alumni, and other organizations interested in promoting STEM literacy for all students.
USEA was founded in 2014 by the first 13 universities to implement the successful UTeach program originally developed at the University of Texas at Austin. UTeach is now in 55 universities in 23 states and the District of Columbia.

USEA is governed by an Executive Board of seven members, serving three-year terms and meeting three times per year.
